Evan Forrest Mann (b. 1985, Colorado Springs, CO) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the tension between modern digital distractions and the raw, untamed experience of nature. Holding a BFA from Colorado State University and an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, his work is included in the collections of the RISD Museum, Holter Museum of Art, and private collectors such as Paula and Leonard Granof. An Emmy® Award-winning filmmaker, his films have been recognized with Vimeo Staff Picks and international screenings.
Mann's paintings serve as a counterforce to the digital world, offering a return to stillness through landscapes that emerge from memory and imagination. Inspired by the cycles of decay and renewal in nature, his work channels the struggle between comfort and raw experience. His landscapes are not direct representations but intuitive formations—distillations of real places, shaped by recollection and invention. In his practice, the brush becomes both a tool of observation and resistance, a way to reconnect with the physical world in an age of artificial screens.
